Leftwich may miss first month of season (AP)

Cardinals release QB Leinart (AP)

The Arizona Cardinals have released quarterback Matt Leinart, ending a rocky stint with the team that began with fanfare as he was drafted 10th overall in 2006 and ended this preseason with the former USC star taking a backseat to Derek Anderson. The team announced the decision to release the 2004 Heisman Trophy winner Saturday.

Cowboys trade WR Crayton to Chargers (AP)

Patrick Crayton wanted out the minute the Dallas Cowboys drafted Dez Bryant. He finally got his wish Friday, and it might've been worth the wait. Crayton was dealt to the San Diego Chargers, where he'll be a bigger part of the offense than he would've been in Dallas and still will be playing for a contender.

Chiefs S Page signs free-agent tender (AP)

Jarrad Page, the Kansas City safety who fell out of favor with coaches last year and asked to be traded before sitting out the entire preseason, has signed his restricted free-agent tender with the Chiefs. Page lost his starting spot last season in Todd Haley's first year as head coach. The former UCLA player has made 39 starts since the Chiefs drafted him in the seventh round in 2006.
